This is what my Sunday looked like 🙈 The agency took us out to brunch and insisted we tried the French toast 🍴 and HOLY MOLY it was glorious... I don't think French toast has any nutritional value at all... But hey... I'm in France 🇫🇷💃🏼
Today was the perfect day for an afternoon picnic in the park ☀️My book 📒 Some fresh fruit 🍍 my favorite crisps 🙌🏼 and a not pictured coconut fat ball made by @beccpower (I was to impatient and ate it before the picture 🙊)
I have been practicing yoga on and off for the past 4 years and everytime I get back into it I love it❤️! I have tried Yin yoga, Vinyasa flow, Bikrim yoga and Warm Vinyasa. My favorite is definitely Vinyasa flow and I currently try and practice every day🌅. I love yoga and always try and encourage my friends to come along as not only is it great for your physical body and toning, it is also great for your mental health and mind👫👭. No matter what mood I am in I ALWAYS walk out of the class feeling, relaxed, energized and with a clear head to tackle that day/night😎. If you have never tried yoga I 150% recommend giving it a shot (there is never any judgement or pressure in a class). It's a huge part of my life and I am so grateful for being able to go almost every day and to take the time to practice on my mat ☺️
I MADE MY OWN TUMERIC MILK (I can't call it a latte because it doesn't have froth 😝) but it was such a success! I simply heated over the stove a cup of coconut milk, a good amount of sprinkled organic turmeric, a decent amount of organic cinnamon, a few drops of sweetener syrup and some black pepper. I read that adding black pepper to your turmeric drinks helps your body absorb the benifits of turmeric even more... Umm yes please!!!! 🍵💛
I have been OBSESSED with having oats in the morning recently 😋 I'm amazed at how long they keep me going for and how yummy they can be 🌟!! Always insure that the only ingredient on your oatmeal package is; wholemeal oats (I like to use organic so; organic whole meal oats). Avoid pre packaged porridge as it is ussally filled with sodium and sugar and fewer health benefits 🙅🏼 Your morning bowl of oatmeal is a great source of iron, magnesium and B vitamins💪🏼. My go-to brekkie is stove cooked oats with coconut milk and cinnamon. Topped with chia seeds, cacao nibs and warmed berries mmmmm! 🍓🍲
A great habit to get into is to have a big bag of frozen spinach in your freezer 🌿 (it lasts for agggess). I find spinach great because it is so versatile and I try to add it to as many dishes as I can! Tip; Don't be shy with your portions of spinach, whilst cooking it shrinks sooo much in size because of its high water content💧. One of the reasons spinach is so great is because of its high iron content which means it helps transport oxygen around our bodies and gives us great energy. It's also one of the best veggies to find Vitamin K in, so it's great for maintaining bone health 💀
Snacking on some roasted, turmeric chickpeas 💛 Rinse and dry a can or two of chickpeas, place them on a oven tray lined with baking paper and cover with a light layer of olive oil. Making sure the chickpeas are quite spaced out from each other, sprinkle with some turmeric and pink hymilain rock salt. Place in the oven and then set the oven to 210 degrees Celsius. Leave in the oven for 40 mins, shaking the chickpeas up every 10 mins. Once 40 mins has passed turn the oven off and leave the chick peas to sit for an hour or two.... Enjoy straight after or place in an air tight container for a yummy snack 😋
I would say my current diet is around 70% organic 🍓🍊🌽🍅🍌. Due to seasonal fruit and vegetables I sometimes cannot find what I am looking for in organic stores, and eating out plus catering on jobs is often not organic BUT I am ok with that as I eat mainly organic at hm. I think there is an idea that eating organic is very expensive 💸... And don't get me wrong it can be, but it doesn't have to be🙅🏼. By chosing certain foods that will last a long time (chickpeas, pasta, quinoa etc) and can be used in a wide variety of foods (spinich, chia seeds, nuts, almond butter) and buying in bulk you should find its not that much different... You just have to be wise 👴🏼. Eating organic is so important as not only does it taste better, is is free of harmful chemicals ( 90% of the chemicals applied to foods have not been tested for long-term health effects), it contains so much more nutrients, and preserves our ecosystems. To choose organic is a smart priority and is the best choice for personal and planetary health 🌎🏃🏼.
I have been eating so many chickpeas recently as they are so easy to prepare and only 99p for a organic can from @planetorganic 💸. Chickpeas are high in fiber, a great source of iron (especially for vegetarians), and are super high in protein. 1 cup of chickpeas has the same amount of protein as 2 eggs 🍳🍳.
The temperature has dropped here in London and I was worried I was coming down with a cold 😓 So I decided to make a big batch of soup that will be quick and easy to heat up over the next few days. I made this carrot and fennel soup I found on @jamieoliver website using all organic ingredients. The main ingredient being carrots in this recipe allows it to be packed with vitamin A which has sooo many benefits for your body. It protects your eye health, is amazing for your skin (will reduce acne and the signs of aging), fights inflammation and most importantly for me at the moment provides immune support!! YOOOOOM 🍲🌇🍂🐯
I started using natural toothpaste about a year ago when my boyfriend introduced it to me. I knew it must be the more natural option but until further research today I didn't realize just how bad regular toothpaste is. Regular toothpaste contains fluoride which is advertised to fight cavities however is highly toxic and the most common way to create fluoride is by filtering airborne industrial waste given off by fertilizer producers 😖 it has also been linked to learning disabilities. Sodium Laurel Sulfate is used to make regular toothpaste foam, it's considered a detergent and can be found in most shampoos 🙅🏼 Last but not least Saccharin is used to sweeten many regular toothpastes and after being tested on lab rats, showed it caused kidney cancer. So end of they day always opt for a natural toothpaste which can be found in organic stores and supermarkets. It is made from ingredients like mint and other herbs with are natural breath fresheners and won't endanger yourself and family 👍🏼
A positive lil quote to begin your week 💝 appreciating the little things in your day are so important. This week I am really going to try and make this my focus. I tend to get so caught up in my day and stuck in my head. I am writing this post drinking my coffee and eating my favorite protein bar from @planetorganic ... And appreciating every sip and bite 😝
