New blog post online and it's all about embracing and loving your body ❤️☺️
One of my favourite things to do is to connect with people and talk about the "real" things in life.
So to have the opportunity to talk with girls about self-love, resilience, body image and overcoming life's curveballs is such a dream role!
A few weeks ago I spoke to two hundred awesome Year 10 Students at Howick College about one of my favourite topics; body image and learning to embrace your body for the beautiful gift it is. We did heaps of interactive activities including a group meditation to finish. .
The girls were so inspiring with the way they shared and I loved meeting them all 😊
There are some highlights from the talk online now. Link in bio ❤️ #realyounz#bodylove
Had such a nice time talking at Howick College this arvo about body love, my personal challenges with body image as a teen, listening to your body and learning to embrace and love your body for the beautiful gift it is ❤️ Super fun (hilarious) bunch of kids who moved me so much with some of their stories and answers! #bodylove#realyounz
Sometimes the best thing you can do in life is not think, not fear, not wonder, not speculate, not predict, not obsess, not resent, not control but love and have faith in your experiences. Even the ones that hurt so bad and make no sense right now, trust ❤️ #realyounz
There seems to be such a stigma attached to doing something alone, by yourself. But having a bit of "me" time occasionally isn't so bad! Thanks to years of traveling alone, eating alone and flying alone I've come to enjoy my own company a bit more and see it as less of a "bad" thing and more as an opportunity to connect with myself. I missed my yoga session this morning (because I was in the carpark on the phone 😑) so I randomly decided to jump on the ferry instead and go over to Rangitoto by myself. Yes, alone 😊. It was such a nice day and I had the most beautiful walk/run around the island and meditation at McKenzie Bay (although a cute old man on the ferry did ask why I didn't have any friends with me 😂) My phone died as well so it really was time with out distractions and to be with myself and nature!
It's such a cliche but if you can't love yourself, can you really love others and expect others to love you, too? Quality time with a partner, friends and family is soo beautiful and important but maybe it's ok to spend a little time alone and enjoy your own company as well ❤️ #realyounz#selflove
PS we have a really nice article up on the blog about overcoming loneliness, a very painful and familiar topic to me. If you would like to check it out just go to the homepage on the site and scroll down 😉❤️ 📷: random tourist with lovely smile
❄️New article up online ❤️ Five Hacks for Using Social Media Mindfully
Social Media is such an awesome tool that connects us to the world and keeps us in-the-know. But it is easy to use Instagram or Facebook as ways to compare our lives to others which can have a totally negative impact and bring about anxiety, loneliness, feelings of being not good enough and self-judgement.
We have so much online connection and yet there has never been a time in our worlds history where people report feeling as lonely as they do today. Your value doesn't come from how many likes or followers you have or what your body or travel plans look like in comparison to others. Your value comes from within and through embracing and loving your real, authentic self 💕 #realyounz Link in Bio.
Two of the most powerful words... Watched a documentary tonight by Tom Shadyac called, "I AM" and it was so incredibly good!
From super rich and successful Hollywood director, he experiences a life threatening accident prompting him to U-Turn his world and go on a journey to find out what really matters in life. He chats with incredible people to learn how we can truly make the world a better place through connection, compassion and less greed 👌🏻❤️
What words would you put after "I am..." Kind? Strong? Generous? Honest? Selfless? Still? Real? Happy? Sad? Enough? Loving? #inspired#realyounz
As some of you already know, I'm getting back into a bit of coaching next term! I have a few spots left still on Saturday's, so if anyone would like lessons then just message me! Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and getting to know some new ones 🎾🎉❤️ 📷: @photosportnz
If you were stranded on a deserted island with nothing and no one to offer you entertainment, company, technology, activities, attention, purpose, worth or love; what could you offer yourself?
Kindness? Love? Faith? Inner-happiness? Contentment? Could you be at peace with yourself?
I have a feeling I'd feel pretty lonely, bored and anxious after a short while. But it's nice to have something to work towards 🙈❤️ #realyounz#selflove#selfloveclub
"When we look at modern man, we have to face the fact that modern man suffers from a kind of poverty of the spirit, which stands in glaring contrast to his scientific, financial and technological abundance; We've learned to fly the air like birds, we've learned to swim the seas like fish, and yet we haven't learned to walk the Earth as brothers and sisters." Words of wisdom from Martin Luther-King Jr. this morn ❤️ #priorities#realyounz
Watching documentaries is one of my fav weekend activities. I'm always searching online for new finds and asking people for suggestions, so I thought I would share a few of my fav doco's and short interviews from the last year or so. Link in Bio 😊Enjoy ❤️ If you have more recommendations, I'd love to hear them 💕#realyounz
