Chagall's costumes for Daphnis and Chloe, a ballet performed at the Opéra de Paris in 1958. I'm so happy that I was able to visit this amazing exhibition (Chagall: Colour and Music) this morning before my conference started.
Our spontaneous decision to go searching for the Burren Perfumery after spotting a lone road sign resulted in a happy, memorable experience. It's a wonderful little oasis of flowers, herbs, and perfume tucked into the Burren. The cafe there also serves delicious teas and lemonade. Every time that I wear my perfume from there the memories bring a smile to my face.
While his work has attracted controversy at times (his projects are known to go over budget and he has often been accused of inefficiency), visually I am a big fan of Santiago Calatrava's work. Seeing Calatrava's Samuel Beckett Bridge in person led to a total architectural history geek out moment for me!
Traveling by train is my favorite method of transportation, and the trip from Zurich to Lugano was one of the most beautiful ones that I have ever experienced. Hopefully one day soon I can explore more of Switzerland.
