I am definitely a morning person, and even more so when I travel! I love seeing cities waking up, preparing for a new day and also love capturing deserted streetscapes in the morning light. In #porto life doesn’t start before 9 am so I had to wait a little for Torre dos Clérigos to open. Perfect time for a quick breakfast! ☕️😊What’s your favourite time of day?
This 4 hour hike to Mount Etna was a tough one with an elevation difference of 1000 meters, fast-changing weather conditions, strong wind and dust in the air but it sure gives you a real sense of accomplishment! Plus this amazing view! 😃🙌🏼🌋
This was the only place during this trip where I hoped for bad weather. The Atlantic Road stretches along the coastal edge of Norway and winds over a set of small islands. In stormy weather, a drive here can get really nasty with huge waves cascading over the road, reaching even the highest point of the bridges but the ocean - as you can see - was flat calm when I visited. 😭Maybe next time! 😃
Lodalen valley looks like paradise, its beauty is really overwhelming. But it is also the place where the worst landslides in Norwegian history occurred. Twice in the 20th century, huge sections of the surrounding mountains broke loose and fell into Lovatnet lake. The tidal waves created by the falling rocks destroyed two villages and claimed many lives. If you zoom in, you can see the white cross in the middle of the peninsula which was erected as a reminder of the tragic events.
